* Organization of initiation ceremony for the newly admitted students on the occasion of 13th Foundation Day of IGU.*
Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari organized an inspiring initiation program for the newly admitted students on the 13th Foundation Day of the University, which was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Asim Miglani.
The program was inaugurated by lighting a lamp in front of Maa Saraswati and by singing the university anthem.
Dean Academic Affairs Professor Sunil Kumar welcomed the newly admitted students and as per the instructions of UGC Education Department, explained the vision and mission of the university to all the students in detail and gave information about various programs and academic courses. He gave details of academic achievements and achievements of students in research work. He gave detailed information about the university's UGC anti-ragging policy, laboratories, course credit system, information system, rules, education system and facilities available at the university level. Dean Student Welfare Professor Karan Singh explained in detail about the literary, cultural programs organized by the university throughout the year and the activities and achievements of National Service Scheme, Youth Red Cross units and also encouraged everyone to join them.
University Vice Chancellor Professor Asim Miglani congratulated all the newly admitted students and wished them a bright future. He said that by implementing the National Education Policy 2020, we have taken the initiative to connect the students with the Guru-Shishya tradition. Education is not just a means to get a degree, but it is a medium for the complete development of personality. Education makes us thoughtful and capable of the welfare of the society. Only the best citizens can build a great nation. Encouraging all the students, he said that we should not be afraid of the failures of life, but we have to keep moving forward in life by adopting positive thinking with hard work and discipline. He encouraged everyone to move forward by the statement of Swami Vivekananda, the source of inspiration for the youth, "Get up, wake up and do not stop till you achieve your goal". He said that I expect all the students to show their active participation in sports and cultural activities, make good use of time, believe in your abilities and contribute to building a good nation with new energy by increasing your skills. He along with everyone took a pledge that with all of us togetherness we will take the university to new heights.
Librarian Professor Pankaj Kumar Tyagi gave detailed information about the museum and working system of various research books present in Atal Bihari Vajpayee Library. He also informed the students about various Indian research institutes for research.
Chief Warden Professor Satish Kumar gave information about the functioning, facilities and achievements of Maharana Pratap Men's Hostel, Rani Lakshmi Bai Women's Hostel and Sister Nivedita Women's Hostel.
Director Youth Welfare Professor Aditi Sharma thanked the Vice Chancellor, all the teachers, non-teaching staff, students and researchers present. While making them aware of the sports activities of the university, she appealed to all the youth to achieve their goals by increasing their participation in sports and bring glory to the university as well as their parents. She told that the Sports Department provides cash prize money to the winning students. Students should adopt any one sport according to their interest and move forward to give their best performance because "If India plays, India will progress". She inspired all the youth to move forward with hard work.
In the programme, students gave cultural presentations on Haryanvi songs. The talented students who represented Indira Gandhi University on various platforms were felicitated by the Vice Chancellor.
