* Youth Festival will be organized at zonal level for the first time in IGU: Important decisions taken in Youth Welfare Committee. * The eighth meeting of the Youth Welfare Committee was held at Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Professor Asim Miglani, in which many important decisions related to student and youth welfare were taken. If we talk about the most important decisions taken in the meeting, then for the first time the university will organize a zonal youth festival. For this, the youth festival has been divided into 2 zones. The youth festival of Rewari zone will be organized by KLP College Rewari and the youth festival of Mahendragarh zone will be organized by RPS Engineering College Mahendragarh. These events will be sponsored by the student welfare department and both the colleges organizing the events will be provided an amount of ₹6 lakh by the department. Earlier, a single youth festival was organized jointly for more than 135 colleges of Rewari and Mahendragarh districts, due to which the number of teams increased and the programs had to be run till late night and the organizers also faced difficulties. Keeping in mind the interests of the youth, another important decision was taken in the meeting that during the academic session 2025–26, a total of 4 adventure camps will be organized (2 for boys and 2 for girls) to encourage university students in adventure sports. Students of University Teaching Department (UTD) and affiliated colleges will participate in these. 30 students will participate in each camp. These camps will be organized between October 2025 and June 2026 at places like Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh etc. A budget of ₹ 10 lakh has been approved for this. It was also approved in the meeting that the students of the university are consistently performing excellently in the state level and national level competitions and are receiving various awards, in view of which a budget of ₹ 20 lakh has been approved for the students to participate in various national and international level competitions organized under the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and for their proper preparation. Some other important decisions were also taken in this meeting, the major ones among which are as follows: , The team winning the overall trophy at the zonal level will be awarded a sum of ₹21,000. , The team that wins the overall trophy at the Inter-Zonal level will be awarded an amount of ₹31,000. , Each member of the teams securing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th positions in AIU's National and International Festivals will be given a cultural stipend of ₹15,000, ₹11,000, ₹7,100, ₹6,100 and ₹5,100 respectively. , Each member of the teams securing 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in the AIU Zonal Youth Fest will be given a stipend of ₹5,100, ₹4,100 and ₹3,100 respectively. The meeting was conducted by the Director Youth Welfare of the University, Professor Aditi Sharma and various agendas were presented before the Vice Chancellor. In the end, Registrar Professor Dilbag Singh expressed his gratitude to all the members and invitees present.
